Finding Aids Collection

University of Florida Library Photo

Collection Highlight:

This collection of correspondence, financial records, legal documents, shipping records, and photographs documents the sale of citrus trees and fruit by this Central Florida corporation. Several business transactions with Cuban customers appear, including the Eastern Cuba Development Company (Eastern Cuba Plantation Co.) and various customers from the Isle of Pines, Cuba, during 1907-1920. Correspondence three decades later shows the company's attempt to re-enter the Cuban market in the 1950s.

About The Collection

Access to historical collections, archival records, and manuscript materials at the University of Florida is facilitated by descriptive finding aids. Currently, this site includes electronic finding aids from the George A. Smathers Libraries Special and Area Studies Collections Department. These finding aids describe diverse collections of primary resources held by the P.K. Yonge Library of Florida History, the University of Florida Archives, and General Manuscripts unit, among others. The holdings are significant in terms of quality and quantity, and support the University's academic programs and scholars worldwide. Finding aids can be accessed by browsing or by conducting keyword searches.

Not all collections housed at the University of Florida are represented on the site, so interested researchers may also wish to contact the individual repositories directly. Additional finding aids are contributed as they are made available in electronic format.
